General Hospital' actor Johnny Wactor was shot and died at the age of 37, according to reports.

According to sources, Johnny Wactor, who was most recognized for playing Brando Corbin on "General Hospital," was shot and died in downtown Los Angeles. His age was 37.

Wactor was shot and killed early on Saturday morning during an attempted theft of a catalytic converter in the downtown area, according to the local TV station KTLA. Johnny's younger brother Grant confirmed his death to KTLA.

Wactor's talent representative, David Shaul, described the star as a "spectacular human being" and a "real moral example to everyone who knew him" in a statement to Variety.

"Remaining committed to diligence, perseverance, and a never-give-up mindset. He always maintained his composure and strived to be the greatest version of himself despite the highs and lows of a demanding career, Shaul said in a statement. "We would desire for everyone to have the privilege of spending time with Johnny. He would practically take off his shirt for you. He will always leave a void in our hearts after more than ten years of dating."

The first to report about Wactor's passing was TMZ.

At approximately 3:25 a.m. local time on Saturday, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at Pico Boulevard and Hope Street, as reported by KTLA. Police discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived at the site.

The man noticed three individuals stealing the catalytic converter from his car, according to KTLA, and when he questioned them, they turned around and shot him, according to LAPD. The actor's mother, Scarlett, told ABC 7 that her son was leaving work at a rooftop club in downtown when the incident occurred. Wactor contacted the guy to find out whether his car was being towed because he initially believed that was the situation. Scarlett claimed the guy, wearing a mask, shot her son when he looked up.

Wactor was taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital, where, according to ABC 7, they declared him dead.

According to authorities, the suspects are still at large.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Wactor's mother Scarlett stated that the actor's family will be returning him to South Carolina for funeral ceremonies, and that the police are preparing an autopsy.

"I want everyone to know that a wonderful human being was taken." About her son, Scarlett remarked, "It is leaving a very large hole in my life and his brother's." "My spouse, their father, was recently buried four years ago. And his families and friends cherished him greatly. He was a really upbeat, happy person who pursued his aspirations and lived life to the fullest."

"I hope they catch them, and I hope Johnny gets justice," she said in closing. I can only hope and pray for that. I'll see him once more. But for myself and his brothers, it will be a very, very long path without him here on earth."

Between 2020 and 2022, Wactor portrayed Brando Corbin in the ABC daytime soap opera. However, he debuted as an actor in the drama series "Army Wives" on Lifetime in 2007.

Hollywood Girl (2010), Siberia (2013), Agent X (2015), Vantastic (2016), Animal Kingdom (2016), Criminal Minds (2017), NCIS (2019), The OA (2019), Westworld (2020), The Passenger (2020), and Station 19 (2023) are some of his previous television performances.
